elips vapour cigarette clearomizer

The elips has been going for just over a year or so. It's shape is a departure from the standard looking electronic cigarette we all came to associate with which is the round type.

Now the elips is available with a clearomizer that makes it the perfect vapourette electronic cigarette to carry around when out and about.

The elips has an oval shape to it so it does fit nicely in a shirt pocket or indeed any pocket and handbag for ladies. Couple that with a respectable 360mAh battery and leak proof makes the elips a very desirable piece of kit.

The early editions of the elips came with a tank atomizer and a tank that attaches to it which is filled with liquid, a mouthpiece to cover both to form the oval shape of the electronic cigarette.

In the past few months, a cartomizer has been introduced which is an atomizer and cartridge rolled into one. What that did is instead of having a 3 piece atomizer, the cartomizer is a one piece (aomizer, cartridge and mouthpiece) all into one.

The cartomizer as you can see from the photo has the wadding material that soaks and keeps the liquid for you as and when you take a puff or drag.

The cartomizer as you can see is very easy to fill as there is quite a bit of space around the centre unlike say a 510 cartomizer which is quite difficult to refill due mainly to its size.
In addition the elips cartomizer can hold a lot more e-liquid than the standard tank cartridge of the original elips. Typically 35-40 drops of liquid can go in a given elips cartomizer.

A word of caution though, if you overfill the cartomizer, it may start leaking plus also it is difficult to tell when it runs out because if you do not get any vapour when you take a drag, it could be that the cartomizer is empty or equally it could be the battery that is running out.

The introduction of the elips clearomizer solves that problem as you can see how much liquid is left just by glancing at the see-through part of it.

The elips clearomizers are much more neat and above all they do not leak. You do not get any condensation either with them and they are very easy to refill too.
They are single coil with a resistance of 2.1-2.3ohms which is the standard.

Because you can see how much liquid is left in the elips clearomizer, you can always be sure that if you do not get any vapour out of it, it is the battery that is running low.

A word of caution. When you use the clearomizer or indeed any cartomizer from brand new. Always make sure to fill it and leave it stand for a good few minutes before you start using it. If you do not leave the liquid to soak through the material inside, you run the risk of burning the wadding material and from then on your clearomizer or cartomizer will have the burnt taste which is very difficult to get rid of if not impossible.

Using a vapourette electronic cigarette for the first few times.

It has come to my attention through the sales of electronic cigarette that quite a number of people give up on them fairly quickly and revert back to smoking due to the lack of knowledge/guidance of how to actually use them.

The majority of people tend to use them as a normal analogue cigarette, yet there is a slight difference between the 2 in the way it is used.
First of all, to produce the smoke (vapour in that case) the atomizer needs to be heated, yes it heats upon the first draw or whenever you draw on it but it does need a longer and slower draw to get the electronic cigarette working as close as the real analogue one.
This is key to using an electronic cigarette. Longer and slower drags.
Once you start doing that, the electronic cigarette works perfect. So please bear in mind that switching from analogues to electronic / electric cigarettes or Vapourettes as they are also called does require a bit of getting use to and please do not give up.

There are 2 types fundamentally of ecigs.

Automatic and manual (no its not a car!)

  • The automatic ones are activated by the draw or drag. Once you start taking a draw / puff / drag, the atomizer is activated by the amount of air that is going through. The power from the battery heats up the coil of the atomizer which in turn starts vapourising the liquid that is contained in the cartridge. Then hey presto you got vapour and nicotine to satisfy your craving but without so many carcinogens that are in a real cigarette.

  • The manual one works in a slightly different way by way of a switch usually located on the battery. What happens with a manual ecig is that you press the button a second or so before you take a puff. What that does is dort of preheat the coil which means it delivers more consistent results.

The automatic type is fine to start with as it is very much like a real cigarette. It takes a bit of time to get use to a manual type of vapourette but the results are much better with a manual button.

The very main point to remember when using or switching to vapourettes electronic cigarettes is to take longer and slower drags / puffs or draws.

My first electronic cigarette.

3 years ago when my health took a turn to the worse, i decided to switch from smoking analogue cigarettes to using an electronic cigarette.

I ordered from a reputable company a kit that had 2 batteries, 2 atomizers, a charging case and spare filters. The idea of getting a charging case was so i can charge the batteries while i am out and about.
At the time, electronic cigarettes were and some of them still are looking like real cigarettes.
When i first started vaping, i needed something that looks like a cigarette rather than say an eGo type which is a lot bigger yet does the job more than excellent.

The drawback of having a cigarette look alike is battery life. Apart from that it does the job very well. Specially now they advanced a lot with the addition of cartomizers which are an atomizer and cartridge rolled into one plus now there are tank cartridges as well so you are spoilt for choice.

I was a heavy smoker before so i was very apprehensive about trying them as i had high hopes that with a vapourette i can ditch the analogue cigarette once and for all and switch to them (vapourettes).

After trying it for a few puffs, i realised that this is the one for me. So i put my rolling tobacco tin in a drawer in the bedroom and thought the big test will be in the morning when i wake up and would want a usual cigarette. So next day when i got up, i took the first puff from the ecig and i thought wow! That is doing the trick.
Since then i never looked back and carried on using vapourettes ever since.

The reason a lot of vapers (people that use vapourettes electronic cigarettes) end to start with a look like type of ecig is the psychology of the whole thing. For me to make the switch to vapourettes, I had to have something that very much if not identical looked like a real cigarette.
I even tried the smallest one at 88mm long which is almost exactly the same size of the real thing. The big drawback to that size is that you will be charging the batteries more than you will be using it. I did however persevere with the small ones and they have certainly done the trick and I was analogue cigarettes free from then on.

A version of the small electronic cigarette which is made of  a battery,
an atomizer and the filter tip that holds the liquid nicotine.

I have to say this though. A lot of vapers, the more experienced ones say that the small ecigs are useless and a waste of money. I strongly disagree with them. Without the small type hat looks like an electronic cigarette, the majority would still be using analogues to this day. So the small ones have done the trick and when we were in safe waters so to speak, we moved on to something that lasts longer and performs better mainly due to a bigger size which in turn allows for a longer battery life and can accommodate more electronics in it.

When i first started, i used 18mg strength which wasn't enough for me as i use to smoke Golden Virginia rolling tobacco which is quite strong. So i bought some e-liquid of 24mg and started refilling my cartridges with it. I even went higher and bought some 36mg to try but was too strong for me.
Now i settled on 18mg and if i happen to have a cold or flu i sometimes use 11mg which is weaker.

If you have the intention of quitting smoking altogether, you can try reducing the nicotine intake gradually over a number of weeks or even months. After that all you will have to get rid of is the habit of holding a cigarette or vapourette and of course the vapour itself. Can you do without both? I personally like the habit (hand to mouth) as it is called. The motion of holding a cigarette be it a vapourette or electronic cigarette as some people call it, then there is the vapour production which is a delight to many vapers.

So in conclusion vapourettes electronic cigarettes are certainly a much better alternative to analogue cigarettes and the coming months, years will prove that beyond any doubt.

There is talk that the big tobacco companies are developing an electronic cigarette which proves the point that they are a worthy alternative to the analogue cigarette.

A lot of research has been going on about electronic cigarettes of late and all the signs look like they are much better than patches, inhalers, pills, etc....
They cannot be called smoking cessation devices as they have to pass a lot of tests before they can be recognised as smoking cessation devices but all the signs are pointing that way.

Suffice to say that vapourettes electronic cigarettes or vapour cigarettes are certainly a much better alternative to the usual smoking. No smell, no passive smoking let alone the smell on the clothes.
