It has come to my attention through the sales of electronic cigarette that quite a number of people give up on them fairly quickly and revert back to smoking due to the lack of knowledge/guidance of how to actually use them.
The majority of people tend to use them as a normal analogue cigarette, yet there is a slight difference between the 2 in the way it is used.
First of all, to produce the smoke (vapour in that case) the atomizer needs to be heated, yes it heats upon the first draw or whenever you draw on it but it does need a longer and slower draw to get the electronic cigarette working as close as the real analogue one.
This is key to using an electronic cigarette. Longer and slower drags.
Once you start doing that, the electronic cigarette works perfect. So please bear in mind that switching from analogues to electronic / electric cigarettes or Vapourettes as they are also called does require a bit of getting use to and please do not give up.
There are 2 types fundamentally of ecigs.
Automatic and manual (no its not a car!)
- The automatic ones are activated by the draw or drag. Once you start taking a draw / puff / drag, the atomizer is activated by the amount of air that is going through. The power from the battery heats up the coil of the atomizer which in turn starts vapourising the liquid that is contained in the cartridge. Then hey presto you got vapour and nicotine to satisfy your craving but without so many carcinogens that are in a real cigarette.
- The manual one works in a slightly different way by way of a switch usually located on the battery. What happens with a manual ecig is that you press the button a second or so before you take a puff. What that does is dort of preheat the coil which means it delivers more consistent results.

The very main point to remember when using or switching to vapourettes electronic cigarettes is to take longer and slower drags / puffs or draws.
